Policies & Procedures related to Code of Conduct Provisions
The ILPartners Approach is to listen to first understand the perceived policy needs of the client. As Ethics and Compliance (E & C) risks and failures continue to be a growing part of our societies, there is an ongoing organizational need to create and maintain specific E & C related policies and procedures that promote ethical leadership and that support compliance with legal requirements.
Integrity Leadership Partners believes that creating and maintaining relevant Ethics and Compliance policies is one of the first steps for an organization to give assurance to not only its employees, but also all of its stakeholders, that certain high levels of service and product qualities will always be produced. It is also the assurance that an organization’s defined and ‘living’ work culture goes beyond a customer’s expectation in how it complies with regulatory requirements while treating its employees and others, i.e. suppliers and customers, with dignity and respect.
ILPartners uses its skill and knowledge to collaborate with the client to either create and/or update or refresh policies or procedures that requested. Often, while many organizations have existing policies or procedures for a given area related to a provision of their code of conduct, they may not have been reviewed or updated for a number of years. In these situations, ILP can work with Legal, Human Resources and / or other functions with the organization to bring forward ideas and suggestions for re-writing / updating or creating new policies and procedures. Once completed, the new or updated policies can be used to train the organization’s workforce or even its suppliers, making them aware of policy requirements.
ILPartners has experience in writing most policies and procedures that are typically associated with a code of conduct. Some of the ones most written have included:
- Ethics Policy
- Whistleblower Policy
- Conflict of Interests
- Gifts and Hospitality
- Records Management
- Investigations Guidelines
- Program Management Guidelines
In all cases, ILPartners wishes to collaborate with the client for an effective, efficient, thorough and complete, set of policies and procedures that support the provisions of the code. Although many companies can find general policy templates on the Internet to help them write policies, ILPartners recommends that organizations work with someone who has experience in writing these types of policies to assure ‘getting it right the first time’.
